The MediaNow project consists of three sub-projects.
PhD student information retrieval sub-project
In this sub-project we work on weakly supervised learning-to-rank for media archives. A self-learning search engine can help us integrate diverse sources of ranking information into the archive, giving a better user experience and allowing the archive to better serve its customers.

Postdoc information retrieval sub-project
Here we focus on entity-centric search and exploration. Entity-centric ranking features give media-professionals rapid access to multimedia publications relating to a person, event, or other entity, helping them to create publications to a deadline and ensuring that there is a comprehensive overview.

Postdoc media studies sub-project
In this sub-project the focus is on narrative result presentation. Narrative result presentations help media-professionals create a story, providing them with ingredients that can be refined and (re-)ordered.
